Structural Reports are often referred to as “Engineers Reports” or “Structural Engineers Reports” or “Structural Survey”.
Our Structural Surveys are carried out by suitably qualified engineers. With all surveys and reports it is essential to understand what is being inspected and reported on, and what is not included. Our two main types of structural surveys are described below: -
Specific Structural Report (SSR)
A Specific Structural Report is a visual inspection of a particular structural defect or concern. It would not include any related matters. It should be highlighted that parts of the property not related to the specific problem may not be inspected. However, if our engineer were to identify any other structural problems or concerns during the inspection, then these might be reported on.
Our reports include details of what was inspected and found. They state whether or not there is a problem and if so, what needs to done to rectify the problem or what further investigations may be required. Where repairs/remedial works, or further investigations are required, our reports will give budget costs for these elements, if required.
General Structural Report (GSR)
This report is similar to a Specific Structural Report
(SSR), except our engineers will inspect and report on the
structural condition and adequacy of all of the readily accessible
load
bearing elements within the structure (not just a specific defect).
The site inspection will include the roof structure floors, walls,
lintels and beams. It will also cover the surrounding site in case
there are any factors which could
influence the structures foundations.
Our report will detail the structural condition and
adequacy of all of the load bearing elements inspected. The report
will identify any structural problems or concerns and will
make
recommendations for rectifying the problem or what further
investigations may be required. Where repairs/remedial works, or
further investigations are required, our reports will give budget
costs for these elements, if required.
